Dragonflies (Haiku)

One thing on my 43 list of goals is learn and write different forms of Japanese Poetry (haiku and hanibun). I'm joining the ever growing list of poets with One Breath Poetry by participating each week. This week prompt is critters. I really don't have a flava for bugs but I do observe and luv the dance of a dragonflies during mating season.

buzzing silently
dancing to the summer heat
it's mating season

united as one
seductively intertwined
the cycle of life

If you look at the dragonfly and the dame you could see the circle of love in the form of a heart. Pretty.

Thanks for stopping by. I been observing dragonflies, for years now and notice their heart of love formed during mating. A neat thing to watch, plus their different spectrum of colors are amazing to watch under the sun.

Your haiku took my breath away. I really love the sensual feeling in them with as they are "dancing in the summer heat" and are "seductively intertwined." Incredibly sexy! Beautiful photo too. I've always loved dragonflies.

Observant.

It is fun to read about bugs in a non-icky light.

I've never paid much attention to dragonflies...not a big fan of creepy crawlies (hee) but seeing the heart shape they form together as an expression of their love is truly beautiful. I particularly love the last haiku. Great job!
